Getting to Whitwell Station on the Isle of Wight from the mainland is not a problem, however, you will need to either take a passenger or car ferry from either Southampton, Portsmouth or Lymington.

If you are travelling on foot, you generally don't need to book. You can travel from:
SOUTHAMPTON to COWES via the Red Jet
Telephone 01703 334010 or purchase tickets on arrival. You will then need to take the No.1 Southern Vectis bus service to Newport which is every 7-8 mins throughout the day. Once at Newport, you will need to take the No.6 Southern Vectis bus to Whitwell which is every hour throughout the day.
PORTSMOUTH to RYDE PIER via the Wightlink Catamaran
Telephone 0990 827744 or purchase tickets on arrival. When you arrive at Ryde Pier Head, take the train down the Pier to Ryde Seafront. The Southern Vectis Bus Station is right next to Ryde Pier. Take the No.9 bus service from Ryde to Newport which is every 7-8 mins throughout the day. Once at Newport, you will need to take the No.6 Southern Vectis bus to Whitwell which is every hour throughout the day.

Take the No.9 bus service from Ryde to Newport which is every 7-8 mins throughout the day.
