Whitwell Railway Station - Holiday cottages set in two acres of land and overlooks beautiful views of English hedgerows, rolling hills and Whitwell Village. The Ventnor West line originally opened in 1897 and was said to be "one of the prettiest branch lines in England" with many local inhabitants lovingly talking of childhood memories of a treasured line.

The trains and bustle are long gone, but when sitting on the platform you can almost hear the rattle of a train, and recall the bygone days of steam.

The Victorian waiting rooms are tastefully converted into two cottages, Primrose and Bluebell and have the atmosphere of the days of steam. Each cottage is thoughtfully furnished to the highest standard to accommodate every need. Every care has been taken to make your stay as enjoyable as possible with all the comforts of home.

There are two upstairs bedrooms in each cottage each with a double bed in one and two single beds in the other. There is a further adult foldaway bed available to each cottage.

Little ones: A cot, highchair and Stairgate is available in each cottage.

The lounge is warm and inviting with TV, DVD and usual refinements.

Excellently equipped kitchens with electric cooker, microwave, fridge freezer, washing machine and many other conveniences are fitted to the highest standard.

The Village of Whitwell has a fascinating history along with the nearby town of Ventnor, both with an element of victorian times. Within a 5 minute walk is the renowned Village pub, Garage. There is a Post Office and store also within a 5 minute drive.

A perfect position to explore the local villages or on a contrast coastal walks and beach resorts all within easy distance. Waiting to be explored are the Island's leafy lanes and bridle paths and rural countryside.
Cycling is a must. Horse riding and fishing ponds nearby.

Some of the prettiest views on the Island can be seen from Whitwell and surrounding areas. Spring, summer, autumn or winter there is something here for everyone.
